Hello, we have a service desk with sso configured to have Azure as the identity provider. In Azure AD the user records have useful information such as their office and department. In the Jira user record, there is a field for department which is locked and looks like it should pull through from the identity provider, but it doesn't. Is it possible to configure Azure AD and Jira so that information does pull through to Jira? Department and Office Location would be the really useful ones to have, so that agents using the service desk can see where the reporters are based from their profile.
Thanks again!
Hi @Tony Dyson
According to my knowledge user contact details are not automatically synchronized from Azure AD to Jira. But if you are open to using 3rd party app Azure AD Attributes for Jira by Deviniti can help you with that.
The app displays user properties like "department", "office location", "manager" and ~ 50 more, that are stored in Azure AD user records and displays them on a dedicated application panel on request and issue views.
It can be also used to automatically populate fields of text and user picker types with Azure attributes to use them further for example in the automatic approval process. It works for Reporter, Assignee, and user from user pickers.
If that sounds interesting, our team will be happy to arrange a free demo via Calendly. You can of course also test it on your own with a 30-day free trial.
Cheers,
Kasia from Deviniti
Thanks Kasia, I've had a read of the documentation for your addon and it looks good. I think I'll sign up for the free trial and see how it goes.
