Hi
We're planning to migrate from Jira on-premises server to the Jira Cloud we already have. I want to know if, when requesting a cloud test environment, we can get our existing live site cloned to the test environment. (because a clean empty test jira wouldn't be a complete, fair test).
Also I want to know if it's possible to set a rollback point, prior to live migration, on the cloud live site. (just in case)
We're migrating Jira and Jira service Desk.
Can anyone advise? I'd appreciate it.
many thanks
Linda
@Linda Petty The best you can do is make a backup of the existing Cloud system, buy a new one (the $10 pm will usually be enough for most testing), and import your data into the new one.
More detail on the question:
We are already using Jira in the cloud so we don't need a trial. I'm asking about test environments. Can we have our existing live cloud instance copied to the test cloud instance so we can test migrating another server-based instance to it? I've read most of the docs BTW.

Hi @Linda Petty ,
Please read this documentation and follow the steps https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/migrate-from-server-to-cloud-972330172.html
This documentation consists of everything you need to know/follow in the process of migration
You can follow this link if you want to try a trail https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/cloud-migration-trials-for-server-and-data-center-customers-976761001.html

On the second link I see "You can’t add a cloud migration trial to an existing paid cloud plan.". So I think that means we can't have a trial site cloned from an existing cloud site and we can't migrate to an existing cloud site. Have I understood correctly?

Yes. The trail option is for server & data centers only, not for the cloud.

Many thanks for your advice Soumyadeep. Our case is a little 'interesting' so I raised a support ticket with Atlassian for our questions.
