Hi Everyone,

Hopefully I have articulated this query well as I haven’t been able to find a close enough answer.

For a Nfeed field type, that has a SQL data source of over 500 values, is it possible to create a new field context that can have a different SQL data source?

As an example;

Nfeed field of ‘Subject Codes’ has a SQL data list of values “1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6”.
Can a new field context be applied where the SQL data list is “A, B, C, D, E, F”.

Any help and suggestions for an alternate solution would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Hi @Suseema Rupasinghe,

You won't be able to use the Jira context concept to use a different data source or a different query for your nFeed field. For 1 nFeed field, you can only plug 1 data source.

But if your values 1, 2, 3, .. A, B, C,... are in the same data source, then you can use the Velocity language in the configuration of your nFeed field to run a different query depending on the situation.

If you need more details, don't hesitate to create a ticket in our support platform.

Regards,

Nicolas.

Hi!

As a former Valiantys consultant I've used nFeed a lot and found that customizing the datasource query to rely on other field to filter the list have been the best option at the moment I tried it. Might have changed. You can directly ask Valiantys and they'll be more helpful I guess. They usually reply within 24hrs so worth a try :)

Their support portal is here: https://support-software.valiantys.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/1

Hope this helps!

Cheers
