Not getting password reset link

Hi We migrated from GSuite to O365.

We have 3 domains of which the last domain is now our primary domain. We want to change all email addresses from the old domain name (now an alias) to the new domain name. 

1. We change the email address to newdomain.com

2. We receive the email to say that we need to verify it

3. click on link and we need to login as user@newdomain.com

4. password does not work so we click on "having trouble loggin in"

5. get the screen to send password reset to user@olddomain.com

 

The email never arrives but the olddomain alias does work.

I have checked the MSExchange logs but the reset password email does not even get to the server so it is not being bounced by exchange. The emails to verify email is displayed in logs. so it is not a spam issue as the mail does not reach our servers.

 

Any suggestions?

I deleted my answer as it was for JIRA Server and it seems that you are using JIRA Cloud
