Hi,
I am trying to find a solution/plugin which would allow me to put a 3 tier multi casade field on a screen with following requirements:
- each of those 3 fields could be of different type (f.i. 1 select list, 1 group picker, 1 user picker)
- the fields may have a custom value or may be populated by JIRA objects (as for exaple a group picker, user picker )
- there may be a dependency between values in the fields (i.e. a choice of a particular value from field A (a select list), would determine options for field B (a group picker) and selected option in field B would determine options for field C (a user picker)).
Thank you!
Rad
Hi Rad,
Have you concidered trying Dynamic Forms for Jira plugin? In a few words, it allows to create conditions which field/custom field should be displayed after selecting an option in the previous field/custom field. You can nest 3 levels of fields/custom fields, but if you need to build more extensive structure with 4, 5 or more levels, there is a dedicated option called Deep nesting, When this option is enabled, it’s possible to create unlimited amount of levels of Dynamic Forms configuration.
As for the second requirement, not sure if I catched it right, dynamic forms feature supports default value set for dynamic custom fields configuration in Jira.
Regarding the last point, at the moment dynamic forms itself cannot limit the set of options in nested field depending on the previous selection, but as far as I know this can be achieved with the help of Scriptrunner (+Dynamic Forms for Jira). Also I can confirm that this feature will be introduced in the future, as it's already planned to be introduced within the next major app version.
If you would like to see full possibilities of the app, feel free to book a demo session with us here: https://calendly.com/deviniti and we can discuss your requirements in detail with our support team.

Barbara
Thank you for the answer Barbara, Ill will try the plugin and see how it corresponds to the requirements.
Best,
Rad
