Populate a custom field from a REST call on hosted service

Hi,

I would like to be able to populate the values within a custom drop down field with the results of a REST call. This seems to be possible via plugins if you self host, but I have not been able to find a solution for the cloud version.

Has anyone else been able to do this?

I think due to the nature of Cloud services, plugins/softwares that makes external calls are very limited due to security reasons.
