Possibility to automate Slack Chat Channel creation with Jira Automation/REST API

Hello, 

Does anybody know if there is a way how to automatically create a chat channel on slack based on request creation, custom field value or issue transition? 

Could this be accessible/is being stored as value in issue properties? 

We would like to automate this for specific request types to be automatically created and invite members into it based on the request data.
