Any way to filter a cascade custom field based on a value selected in another field?

Good morning all!

Yesterday one of my users ask me if there could be any possibility to filter a cascade custom field based on a value selected in another custom field.

there are two custom fields:

1. Aplicación: single selection field

2. Tema: this field is a cascade field

there is no conection between them.

They want that if I select a specific value in Aplicación, some specific values are shown for Tema (they will tell me which value should be shown for any selection in Aplication field)

I have been searching for a solution about it, but couldn't find any.

Is there any possibility to do this? we do not have any other addon other than JWME.

Thanks in advance

Ro

Hi @Rosana Casilli , thanks for your question.

I am doing something similar in a JSM project but I had to get an app.

Basically, the customer is a university and they have different request type forms to ask for and then eventually return devices, like laptops and smartphones.

They wanted to associate different lists for the models of the devices based on another choice in the form. For example, academics should have a more powerful pc in the list.

This is the app - Extension for Jira Service Management | Atlassian Marketplace

It has a function called, 'Customer form extension' in the project where you can set validators (and therefore make some form questions compulsory) and also conditions. In my case, I am using the conditions to say, if you have answered the question about what part of the university you work in as an academic, show one list of devices to choose from, otherwise show another list.

It is a little different from what you want to do but I thought it might be helpful to share in case you want to test the app and see if it helps you. Cheers.

hi @Valerie Knapp !

thanks for you quick response!!

Unfortunately, the company where I work does not allow me to add any other addons. So I worn't be able to test it.

Kind regards,

Ro
