Automatic transition on comment without firing event

I have some issues with creating an automated rule but bypassing the event triggered by transition.

I have a plugin that sends email to customer when generic event is triggered, this is the event that is triggered by transition also.

The only way i can think of would be creating another transition without this generic event being fired, do you guys see another way?

I assume simply removing the generic event from the transition in the workflow is not desired?

no, because i am using that to fire the trigger for emailing plugin.
