Automation rule to apply to changes to subtasks when a Story field value changes

Sherif Sa January 15, 2024

Hi all,

I'm trying to create an automation task that follows:

if the assignee or the due date of a user story changes, then the assignee and due date of all its subtasks should copy it (from the user story)

for some reason the automation rule is not triggered when i change any of the mentioned fields. please help

I've tried to follow https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/Automation-a-single-rule-to-update-all-sub-tasks-stories-and/qaq-p/1829877 but not luck

below is a screen shot of my solution, but it doesn't work

Hi @Sherif Sa ,

Instead of copy assignee from current issue, copy the assignee from trigger issue instead.

Also, to make sure the rule triggers correctly, have a look at your audit log and see if there's any errors there.

Hope this helps!
