Board - card colors based on JQL

Sara Pfannkuchen July 14, 2024

Hello,

I am trying to improve our Sprint Board overview.

As we are working with timeline and sprints and only the epics have due dates in our system, I would like to use a query to represent card colors for stories based on parent(epic) due dates and on open dependencies within the stories.

For example: duedate of the epic of the respective story is in 3days and the story has 3 tickets left in the linktype dependency "blocks" then we would like to show the card in red.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Sara Pfannkuchen -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

A query like that is not possible with out-of-the-box features of JQL, and so it could not be detected for card colors with JQL.

As workarounds, you could...

  • investigate marketplace addons for JQL to learn how they might help, or
  • try using automation rules to set an indicator (e.g., custom field, label, etc.) on the issues and then use built-in JQL features to detect the indicator.

Kind regards,
Bill
