Hi,
Is there a way to natively copy a Jira Project (configurations and automations) from Production to Sandbox environment without copying the issues of that project?
If there isn't a way to do this natively, what third-party Apps would allow this or is it possible by using API?
The reason for this is we have multiple project that are "locked-down" because they have sensitive information and it's cumbersome to apply new configurations/settings without properly testing.
p.s. we have 20 Jira Projects and 500+ custom automations so you can image how many tickets/issues these Project have.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
You can copy a project natively fro production to sandbox, with or without attachments on issues.
Automation rules will not be copied, see documentation about what is copied and what not.

Or you can look at: revyz-data-manager-for-jira-backup-restore-analyze-optimize
Thanks for the link regarding the automations.
When copying the projects, what if I don't want any issues to be copied with it? Just the project and it's configurations (schemes, workflows, and all). Is that possible, or does the copy always include the issues and we can only decide whether or not to copy the attachments?

It always includes the issues and yes you can only decide on attachments.
Of course after the copy you can bulk all issues on the copied project and delete them

Hi @John Izquierdo,
For your need to copy a Jira project from Production to Sandbox without including issues, a tool like our Deep Clone for Jira could be very useful. Deep Clone allows you to selectively copy or clone projects without cloning the issues by canceling the Project Clone process before cloning any issues.

Thanks, Luke! I believe we have Deep Clone in our org so I'll have to give this a shot.
