Custom date field formatting. NO ADD ON PURCHASE

I created a custom field with date picker and named it as xyz date.  I want this date field to stand out on the issue once the issue gets created. I mean I want this date filed to look bold, in some color and eye catchy to the user. While creating JIRA issue user picks a date and it generally displayed to the right side of the screen under dates. 

I tried using JS and html under field description, but nothing helped. May be my thinking and approach is wrong. Can any one help?

Maybe you can add some text with format at the description field of the custom field.
