Custom field multi-level-cascading-select field

Is there any way to validate the second list in the multi-level-cascading select field in Jira Service Desk? JIRA v7.7.x

Basically trying to figure out if there is any way we can avoid the "None" option from the second list if an option is chosen from the first list. Right now choosing a value from the first list and leaving the second list at None is a valid operation.

We want only the following:

  • None -> None
  • Select an Option -> Select an Option

We don't want

  • Select an Option -> None

The only way I know of is to set the field as required and set the default values as you have shown above. The "none" existing by default is a hot topic.

Thanks for your response Matt. So there is no way to remove "None" from the second drop down?

Hi, did you find an answer to this? I want to remove None from the child options.

As Matt says above, the only way to remove "None" is to set a default value. This is one of those things we are stuck with.
