I have a rule configured that checks a custom field, "Linked Watcher List", and tries to add that list of users as watchers. Sometimes those users intentionally do not have the browse permission on the project and result in an error.
I am able to do a compare check after trying to add the users which will trigger an email to the reporter if there is a mismatch between the requested watchers and the actual watchers.
However, this still results in an error in the audit log. I would like to implement an if/else that checks if the requested users have the proper permissions prior to trying to add them as a watcher. I'm hoping there is some advanced voodoo that will enable this.

Hi, is there any progress about this ticket AUT-1391 please? I'm also troubled by this problem, but can not view the ticket due to:
"doesn't have access to Jira on codebarrel.atlassian.net."
Thanks.
