How to auto assign an issue to the active sprint triggered by transition

Project A is a hybrid project of Kanban and Scrum boards.

All scrum boards refer to the same active and next sprints.

In the Scrum boards, When I move an issue from Status A to Status B in Project A I want to Map it to the active Sprint of Project A.

Attached is a screenshot of the automation I tried to create, and the error I receive.

Hi Roi,

Not that it should make any difference, but I would edit the Rule Details to only run the rule on the CMS 2020 Test project. Then you can remove the If: Project equals step. That should help with the count against your executions.

Does that Sprint span multiple projects?

Hi John,

The sprint is relevant only for the specific project.

Did you take out the condition and update the Rule details to run against just one project? Did that help at all?

Actually no. I can't even save the rule.

Have you tried it with Sprints that are not Active yet just to see if that works?

Also, have you tried to update the Sprint field directly in the issue to see it that works?

I tried the automation for "Next Sprints" -> Still couldn't save the automation.

Yes, I can update sprint field directly in the issue.

I would go ahead and open a support ticket with Atlassian then for the Automation For Jira folks.
