I've a requirement when a particular transition happens in jira service desk project an issue with same data should be created in another project(JIRA Software project), and when that issue is transitioned from one status to another the status should be auto-updated in JSD project as well.
I'm using Automation for jira plug-in.Can anyone help me with this. TIA.
Hello Chethan,
To configure this rule, you will need to use Global Administration feature, so the rules created can be applied to the projects you want:
- Navigate to any project > Project settings > Project Automation > Global Administration
- Create the following rule, choosing which projects that the issue should be transitioned to trigger the automation and link the issue to each other, so you will be able to edit the status when one is updated:
- Create another rule that will update the status when the other issue is transitioned:
Hi Petterson,
Thanks for the reply. I'll try it out.
Is it possible to reflect the changes for each and every transition? All the statuses should be auto-updated in JSD project from Software project. Let me know if it's feasible.

Chethan

Hello Chethan,
Performing the steps provided before, the status will be changed for the issue linked. That being said, Can you please provide us more details about the last feature you mentioned:

What are you needing exactly? Are you needing to upgrade all issues from a project when a specific issue from another project is transitioned?
We will be waiting for more details to better understand your question.

Hi Petterson,
Thanks for your response.
I've a requirement when the issue created in software project is moved to another status, it should be reflected in the JSD project as well as customer portal.
My customer wants all the statuses should be displayed on the customer portal(which are being moved in software project)
For example
When I move an issue from open to development in JSD project an issue must be created in software project and all the transitions which happen in software project should be reflected in JSD project n customer portal.
Hope my question is clear.
Regards
Chethan

Hello Chethan,
Actually, I think the automation provided in my first answer should work for this exact case, you only need to properly configure in your workflow the status changes to appear in the Customer Portal.
Can you confirm if you are able to perform the steps provided and check if it works for you?

Hello Petterson,
I've configured it globally and issue is being created in the target project and the issues are also being linked.
But when I perform the transition the status is not updated in JSD project.
In both the project same workflow is configured, when i check the logs i'm getting an error stating no transition to the specified status.
