Hi,
I have a status in the workflow name as 'DONE' which is already working fine. As per the new requirements from the client.
we need to change the status 'DONE' to 'CLOSED' ( means to remove the DONE STATUS & ADD a CLOSED STATUS )
1) How do we do that?
2) We have almost 100 old 'DONE' tickets, when we will have a new status 'CLOSED' is it possible to move all the old tickets to the new status 'CLOSED' will it changed automatically the status for all the old tickets?
Thank you
Hi Muhammad,
Thank you for the details provided.
Actually, you don't need to delete the status to create another one, you can just rename it and all tickets that are on the "Done" will be automatically changed to "Closed".
Please, go to the Project settings > Workflows > On actions, click on > Select the Diagram mode > Click on the "Done" status and on the right side it will appear the option to edit and on the window that will appear after you click on Edit, you can change the name of the status and save.
After that, click on Publish draft, select Yes on Save a backup copy? and then Publish.
Hope it helps!
If you have any other question regarding this matter, please let us know.
Regards,
Angélica
Are you sure all the old tickets which are more than 100 ( STATUS =DONE ) will be changed automatically to CLOSED status in the QUEUE ?
It is very important for me to do the change with out any issues for the old tickets.
Thank you

I did the same thing you told me, i am stuck at the point when i edit the option on the workflow diagram window to change the status name from ''DONE'' to ''CLOSED''
It gives the error message, this status is used in other workflows, editing it will effect them, A status with that name already exists, please enter a different name.
Any further step? how to change it this?
Thank you
Muhammad Bilal

Hello,
Yes, once you save the workflow all tickets that are already set as Done will change to Closed automatically, it's not necessary to bulk move the tickets to the new status. It would be necessary only if you create a new status, but in this case, we are just changing the name of the status that already exists.
When it shows an error that the name is already being used, you must check the other workflow of other issue types that are associated with the scheme. For example, on the screenshot below, the workflow for Support has Closed status and the workflow for Bug/New feature has Done status. So, I had to change the name for Closed in the workflow for Support to free the name and then updated the Bug/New feature workflow and it worked normally.

I have three work flows for the same project with different issue type, the first workflow has the status of Done when the ticket is closed, and other two are already in Closed status. So what exactly i need to change here? I guess the other two are already having the closed status so i think i do not have to change further, only the first workflow requires to change the status from DONE to CLOSED.
Can you please tell me more about this!!
Thank you

Thank you for the details.
In this case as you already have more workflows on the same scheme and you can't change the status name to free the status name "Closed" it will not be possible to do what I said first to just change the name, it will be necessary to create the status and add the transitions to the correct status or associate an existing workflow to the issue type.
Firstly I want to ask: Is this workflow exclusive of this project?
The default workflow for Service Desk has the status Closed, so if the workflow that you want to associate with the issue type already exists on another project, you can just add the workflow to the scheme and associated it with the issue type. After you publish, all the tickets will be moved to the new status, because you will have to map the current status to the status of the new workflow.
I've recorded a gif to show you the steps:
