How to see Issue types in project settings

Dennis Brunek January 14, 2025

I am making a project from a blank template and I cant find the option to add Issue types. I can only add new Request types which is not what I want (see image below).

I am the only user and have full rights to the project as Organization admin.

In a different project that is made from the Customer Service Template I can see the Issue types option in the project settings.

Does anybody know how I can add Issue types instead of just Request types?

Hi @Dennis Brunek Welcome to the community!

Could you please share the complete screenshot of the left sidebar? The option should be there

  1. Go to the project's sidebar
  2. Select Project settings
  3. Select Issue types

Hi Manoj, thanks for responding.
This is how the project settings look like for me:

Hi @Dennis Brunek, I think you created a team-managed service project. Currently, in Team-Managed Service Management projects, there are only Request Types, not separate Issue Types, as exists in Company-Managed JSM projects.

Also, in Team Managed JSM projects it is not currently possible to create a "sub-task" type of Request Type. There is a change request for that to which you can add your vote/comments.
