Is it possible to create a new issue on another project when an issue is created

tazeenn April 10, 2019

The use case of my ask is that when a ticket gets created say in project A, tasks or stories get created on project B or C. The ticket of project A will be trigger to create these tasks/stories.

Is it possible with automation without an Add-on?

If not then is it possible to create tasks on same project and then move to the other project via automation?

Hi Tazeen

It can work if you have Jira Service Desk, see this article: https://confluence.atlassian.com/servicedeskcloud/blog/2017/12/automatically-create-linked-issues-from-new-requests

Else you would need something like Automation for Jira, Scriptrunner or Utilities for Jira. You can find them in the Marketplace.

Hey Nik,

Yes I do have service desk. Let me check the link you shared and see if that could work. Thanks a lot!

Hi @Sloan N_ B_ ,

I tried this on my service desk but "create issue" is not at all appearing in the action drop down

Is it specific to a JSD version?
