JIRA Upgrade to 8.0 from 7.10.2?

Robert Simon February 12, 2019

Looking to do an upgrade and was just notified about 8.0 yesterday.  We're currently on 7.10.2 and when I do the pre-upgrade check the highest version it shows me 7.13.1 as the highest version I can choose.

Does this mean it's not possible to upgrade directly from 7.10.2 to 8.0, or can I go ahead and do that still?

Thanks in advance.

Be sure to do your upgrade in a development environment first! Never try an upgrade for the first time in production.

I took a quick scan over the upgrade notes and didn't see anything about not being able to go directly. I'd try it in dev and see how it goes. You're not super far back, so I would expect it to be a direct upgrade.

Thanks, I will give it a go.

I confirmed you can upgrade to 8.0 from 7.10.2,

Only hit a snag with mine because of some custom field that was duplicated in the screen schemas that had to be cleaned up after the upgrade.

I tried to upgrade to 8.0 from 7.11 and my environment is not bricked.   I still cannot find an issue on how to fix this yet...I just don't know where to look to find the issue...
