Hi all,
I have a story with 5 subtasks. That story is being blocked by a different story.
What I want to do is - mark my story as blocked by the other story, and then have automation block all my subtasks as well.
So, here's the representation of it:
Story A - blocked
Story B - blocking
I want the blocked status from story A to be propagated to all subtasks, linking to the same blocking issue - Story B.
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks.
Hi @Dzanan Gvozden and welcome to the community!
Try the following rule:
And on Edit issue -> copy linked issues from Destination Issue.
For me it worked. However keep in mind that as this rule is set up, it will only work if:
Let me know if you need anything else!
Hey @Alex Koxaras -Relational- thank you for the answer. Unfortunately, this doesn't work for me. It doesn't trigger at all and audit log doesn't show it triggering.

Did you take into consideration what I wrote in the bullet points?
Can you please share your rule?
The rule works because I've tested it myself (and you see it on the screenshot as well).

Hi, Alex!
Would it also help if the rule checked the link type for blocking types?
Kind regards,
Bill

Yes @Bill Sheboy it would help , but I just though to include all link issue types. If @Dzanan Gvozden wants to check only for blocks/is blocked by, then he only has to select it within the trigger.

@Dzanan Gvozden why you've place trigger "On Issue transition". You issue is not transitioning to anywhere. You just insert a link issue, right?

Oh, my bad. Let me fix that. Don't know what I was looking at. Sorry for that

@Alex Koxaras -Relational- works perfectly now. Now, for improvements, is it possible to also remove the blocker when I remove it from parent in the same automation?

Create a new rule with another trigger and make the necessary adjustments:
