I have Jira Service Desk - Cloud and am testing the Automation Plugin.
I am very pleased that the Automation Plugin allows the Issue Type to be changed. I am perplexed why it does not allow the Request Type to be changed as both are the opposite of the Jira Automation capability (unless I am missing something).
Is it possible to edit custom fields with the Automation Plugin? I want to change my Operational Categorization and Product Categorization fields and I do not see that as an option. Is there a workaround?

Hi Paul,
Unfortunately it's not possible in Cloud currently because there's no REST API endpoint to make that change. There's a feature request to get that added but in the meantime no plugins (like Automation for Jira) are able to change the Request Type specifically. Code Barrel also has this documented on their site for Automation for Jira.
Other custom fields should be editable. Check out Code Barrel's instructions for the "Edit Issue" action which allows field values to be changed.
