Migrating tickets from NextGen to NextGen Jira project

Ibrahim Al-Taie November 12, 2020

We have an existing Jira Project "A" that tracks our workflow and tickets, and we want to move done "Epics" and their "child issues and their subtasks" to a new project (Project B)

Reason is: we are approaching 5k tickets in one project, and we want to move the done tickets to the new project as it would function as an archive of sorts.

Problem: When trying to move tickets from NextGen to NextGen, the data is not retained from the custom fields in Project A to Project B.

Does anyone has experience or a work-around?
I would rather all data be retained and not create a duplicate, as historical information/changes is important to us.

Hi @Ibrahim Al-Taie

Next-gen custom fields are project specific and you will loose the data if you move them.
