Hello, I have an nteresting problem that sometimes happens. I have 2 users: InactiveA and ReporterB. Sometimes it happens that actually ReporterB creates an issue, the email notification shows the InactiveA created the issue, but the email notification is sent by ReporterB. The attached (depersonalized) screenprint shows what I mean. So ReporterB is a completely different person than InactiveA. InactiveA is inactive for quite a while. How can InactiveA appear when ReporterB is logged in and creating the issue?
Hello Sandra,
Have you checked your workflow? There may be a post-function on the Create transition updating the Reporter field with the inactive user.
Hope this helps,
- Manon
Hello Manon, I checked, but nothing there, only "assign the issue to the lead developer". Component lead of the component is there and valid, project lead of the project is a valid user. It happens not for every issue, only sometimes. Pretty strange.

Have you checked the logs when it happens? If nothing shows up, I guess you'd better reach Atlassian support.

Hi @Sandra Meessen,
Is the Reporter field on the Create Screen? If so, any user creating this issue type could change the Reporter to someone else.
If not, you may want to investigate if your JIRA instance is running a script from a plugin such as Script Runner.
Hope this helps

Hello Danny, I understand that the creator can overwrite the reporter at creation of the issue, but my mentioned user InactiveA is actually inactive. How can I select an inactiva Jira user as reporter?
