Permissions for editing custom fields by only one user group

Hello, we would like to know if it is possible to restrict the permissions to edit custom fields by only a specific group of users.

It is not, Jira does not have field-level security or permissions.

You could move the field edit into the workflow (so that people can only change the content of fields during a transition, and you can protect transitions with conditions like "must be in group"), but that can make your workflow messy and it's not obvious to users unless you're very careful with the transition names.
