Status of the story not changing when child is updated - cloud

The status of the story does not change to In progress when any of its sub-task's status is changes - jira cloud?

Is this an issue in cloud version of jira?

Hello,

Actually that is how Jira works by default. It works the same way on Cloud and Server. To make a story to change its status, if a sub-taks of this story has changed its status, you would need to use a plugin.

You could try either Power Scripts , ScriptRunner or Automation for Jira.
