Theres a comment to a linked issues and I don't know why

Andre Schäfer July 24, 2018

Hi,

we're using Service desk project called SUPPORT and create linked issues to an Jira Software project called APP if a issue is confirmed. The linked issue is linked with "is caused by".

After closing the linked APP issue, there is a comment in the SUPPORT issue (see screenshot)

I've checked workflow post functions from open to close (see below)

We've a second identically workflow step from reopened to close (see below) but in this step theres no comment added.

03reopened_close.pngIs there any built-in feature in Jira where comments are added to linked issues?

Thank you!

Best regards

André

I solved this issue.

Jira Service Desk has a build-in feature for automation tasks. After install, there is a task which will add a comment to Service Desk Issues if a "caused by" issue is closed.

Go to: project configuration -> Automation

Hello @Andre Schäfer

There are no builtin functions for that.

It seems that comment added with Scriptrunner Postfunction, try to check code,

Hi @Mark Markov

thank you for your reply. I've checked Scriptrunner postfunction code. Theres only this code inside

SR1.pngSR2.pngThis code does not add the comment to linked issues I think.
