To be clear you receive this error when you navigate to project settings > automation?

things to try...

1. different browser 
2. navigate to global automation > admin - system - global automation 
3. ask a peer if the are seeing this
4. contact Atlassian support

Yes, trying to access it via project settings > automation

And I have tried the first 3 of your suggestions yet the same issue, hence opting for 4 :)

We had the same issue with listing of Project automations.

in my case the role "Pproject Team" was missing.

now i can see the automations as it should.

Workaround, go to Gobal Automations, it will be listed there anyway.
