We want our users to be able to update the values in a select list without having to be an admin. This would help reduce our overhead for managing lots of these custom fields.
Is there a good way to do this with Insight, Proforma, etc.?
The fields may or may not need to be consistent across projects, depending on the use-case.
You have a number of options:
Hello @Paul Madison ,
I’m Elyes, the associate Product Manager of Elements Connect for Jira Cloud.
We can imagine a dedicated Jira project with its issue summaries used as a Select list option. With Elements Connect, you can Connect to your local Jira and display tickets summaries directly in a Select list.
The Jira global administrator would be in charge of configuring the connection, but once it’s done, users would only need to create a ticket in the dedicated project to see the option displayed in the select list.
Is this something that would fit your need? Would you like a demo of our app answering this use case?
Here is my calendly, feel free to reach out!
Kind regards,
Elyes

We are in the Cloud. Does this functionality work there?

Hello @Paul Madison ,

Circling back on Elyes's suggestion, we recently published a community article on how to use Jira issues as select list options. You can find it here for inspiration: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Marketplace-Apps-Integrations/How-to-query-your-Jira-Cloud-REST-API-to-set-up-a-cost-effective/ba-p/1966361
Do not hesitate to contact us if you require assistance in implementing this on your side.
