When will the License valid date started to be counted?

It's a simple question.

We are renewing license and would like to get ahead to purchase before license expiration.

We use different account for purchasing for our accountant. She doesn't have our admin authority.

Will the license valid date starts from the date we purchase (Which is the date the payment is confirmed.) ?

Or it can be started from the date we put the license key under the Administration page?

Hi @Chrissy,

the license valid date will start to count from the day the payment is confirmed. Here is the quote from the official Atlassian Purchasing and Licensing FAQ:

3. When does software maintenance start?

• New license: Your 12-month software maintenance period will commence from the date of payment confirmation.
• Upgrade: Your 12-month software maintenance will commence from the date of payment confirmation and replaces any active software maintenance of the upgraded license.
• Software maintenance renewal: Your 12-month software maintenance will commence from the expiration date of the previous maintenance period, regardless of when the maintenance renewal was purchased.

Please note: maintenance renewals commence from the date the previous maintenance period expires, regardless of when the maintenance renewal was purchased.
