Hi Guys,
I am struggling to get the JIRA Automations to function as I am expecting it to on the JIRA Cloud - Service Desk.
My Goal: To have a customer create an issue on the Service Desk, which then based on a hidden field value, creates a new linked issue on another project in the same JIRA Cloud.
Current Status: I can get the automations (built in) to create a new issue, in the correct project, based on the hidden value. However, the new issue is never linked to the one in the service desk which created it.
At first, I did not have 'Linked Issue' in the fields used on the Request Type. I have since been back and added it as a hidden field with no initial value set. This did not help.
The automations are running as myself, and I can manually create a linked issue fine, so I dont think it is a permission issue.
Any ideas? I am trying to avoid using third party marketplace addons if possible. The build in automations is showing that this should work, so I would like to make it work.
Hi Cameron,
Just to clarify things,
- Could you elaborate on what you mean by "hidden field value"
- if possible, could you share with us your Automation configuration, (a screenshot would be awesome!)
- While viewing the "view log" on the automation, are there any error that you see?
Cheers
