Hi Guys. I have a question. My company is using Jira Verision 7.4.2. We currently have a mixture of internal users and External clients using our License count. I want to remove the Client as they only need to send an email to create a ticket! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Hey Randy,
There are 2 ways that you should be able to deal with this:
Either of these should help reduce your license count.

Awesome Tyler thanks!
1 more question; Will any of these steps stop the client from creating a ticket via email?
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Is the user that sends the email in logged as the Reporter?
If so then the first one would impact that ability, the second one may as well but I'm not 100% sure.

The user never logins. Only sends an email to create a ticket that is all!

Hey Randy,
I was just curious who is logged as the Reporter on a ticket when it's created.
If it's the user that sends the email then they may still need some permissions in JIRA so deactivating them may impact that capability.

As I recall Atlassian changed the licence handling according of issues created by mail sometime in the Jira 7 track. When using a (free) 3 user Jira Service Desk licence & you configure a Service Desk project anyone can create a ticket by mail without using a Jira licence. When you want personalized issues on Software or Core projects I guess you need a licence per mail users unless you always set a default reporter mail address.
