Search Customfield values based on SubString and get the Value ID

Hi,

With the JIRA automation only, I've below requirements:

• I've a substring as "VN" (Example)
• VN states as VN-XYZ which is a value in the custom field.
• Now, I want to do a lookup for the VN equivalent custom field value and assign that equivalent value to the custom field.

Note - All this be using the Automation only in JIRA Cloud (Premium).

What have you tried thus far to solve this?  If you have a rule, please post images of your rule and the audit log details.  Those will provide context for the community to help.

Until we see those...I am unclear about your scenario...

What problem are you trying to solve: the what and the why?

What do you mean by having a substring?  Do you mean you want to search for a substring as part of another field?

What do you mean that you want to lookup for the equivalent of the substring?  Where do you want to look up: in a project's issues, etc.?
