Hey all,
We have both a Jira Service Desk project and a Jira Software project for our client services and software teams, respectively.
However, my Service Desk users are able to create issues for the Software project, even though none of them have Jira Software licenses, and as far as I can tell, don't have any permissions to access Jira Software.
As a new Jira admin, I may be missing something, though. Can someone point me in the right direction toward solving the issue?
Access to any of the three applications (Core, Software, Service Desk) allows users access to all projects, because the projects and issues are the core of the product. This is because Software and Service Desk are not separate to Core, they are a layer over the top of Core projects and issues.
To stop people using projects they shouldn't set up your permissions so that they are not granted access.
Thanks; that makes sense. I adjusted permissions so that only users with Jira Software licenses can create/edit issues in software projects.

I want to ask another question kinda relate it to this one and it's that how can a jira software users comment Externally and not just internally in a Jira services desk Issue? Pardon me for asking this question here it's that I'm looking in the community and I can't find a concrete answer of how can I do this.
I've given all the access to the Jira software users in the Jira Services project and still the can just comment internally so I think that we are wasting time because I have to comment the same but externally so that the client can see it.
Sorry for my english
Hope that someone can help me .

Hi Justin,
You'll want to check Application access for the users. Take a look at the Manage application access knowledge base for more information.
Cheers,
Branden
