I currently have the ServiceNow Jira integration set up for Jira Issue creation and synchronization.   The next phase is to pull the Release from Jira into ServiceNow's change management module.  At this time I don't see a way to look up releases in the Jira Spoke. Are there any future enhancements that will make this happen without third-party applications?

Hi @Rebecca Froehlich

This should be a question in the ServiceNow forum, as you are using the spoke from there side.

The Jira spoke is developed by ServiceNow not by Atlassian.

As the spoke has no feature to do this, look at the Jira API to get the release that is set on a Jira issue.

Hi @Rebecca FroehlichI’m the Community Manager at Exalate.

From what I’ve seen, the current ServiceNow Spoke for Jira doesn’t expose Release entities, and I haven’t come across any announcements about this being added natively. The Spokes tend to focus more on core objects like issues, incidents, and changes.

In practice, when teams need to bring in additional entities like releases (or even map them into change management workflows in ServiceNow), they usually look at third-party solutions. Tools like Exalate, for example, can help here since they support flexible mapping and bidirectional synchronization between Jira and ServiceNow. That way, you’re not limited to just the entities covered by the default Spoke.

Good luck with the integration!
