Hi there.
I'm evaluating JIRA for a company with a view to rolling out up to 100 users. My issue is that the 25Gb limit is going to run out fast with attachments. The fact you can't monitor it and can't buy more is almost a show stopper given the limit. I understand from some other interactions that this limit is not strictly enforced. Are there plans to enforce it? And if so, would it coincide with introducing space monitoring and the ability to pay for more space?
I've managed to work around this in the back end with plugins to store on Amazon S3 Cloud (plugin https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/tss-simple-cloud-files/cloud/overview) but I have two issues:
1, I've tried hiding the attachment field through the screen schemes and even hiding via field configuration but it doesn't seem to work when viewing issues... the attachment field is still there. I've triple checked the configuration!
2. Attachments sent through the Portal will not use the plugins and I can't seem to hide them through the screen schemes or by hiding fields in the field configuration.
Given the restrictions on the Portal (can't export to Excel, can't report, can't change priority or escalate), it may be easier for us to add customers as back office users (but then of course we're paying for them). But I still can't hide the fields.
We're looking to make a decision on this in the coming days so any help you can give would be much appreciated.
Thanks for your time...
JP
Did you try removing Add Attachments permission from the permission scheme?
Hi there.
Not sure if this ticket is publicly accessible but I've removed the URL just in case.
I haven't tested the permissions fix but it would be a reasonable workaround if it works. Consider this ticket closed for now as we are working with the current attachment limit.
Thanks
JP
