How do i set story points on the standard backlog page?

You can change the estimation statistic on your board to use Story Points. See https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwareserver/configuring-estimation-and-tracking-938845319.html

Once that is done, you can set story points from the backlog itself.

so i seem to have found "board" and done that but the circle on my backlog is still grey and i don't know how to set the points for the user story. Is it meant to still be grey?

crap that - jsut worked out the the "estimate" tab on the side is where the story points get input. thanks!
