Hi,

We have a bunch of boards and on those boards team members have pulled som cases. The challenge is that when we are doing some planning or backlog refinement of the cases we move cards around which renders a bunch of notification to each member as we move cards around.

Is there a way to disable notification from a board to all members while we do the grooming and then enable it again?

Hi @dalu01 ,

The notifications are not based on board related activities. When cards are moved, the underlying issue status also changes and hence results in sending notifications that were configured for the projects that the issues belong to.

We do not recommend to change project notification scheme while working on the board, as there could be other set of users who should be notified when users work outside of the agile boards.

Though I don't advocate changing administrative configurations (in this case project notification schemes), you have the option of disabling outgoing mail server. But, if your JIRA instance is a mission critical and has 24x7 patronage, this is also ruled out.

Unless, you assure yourself that you are the only user working on JIRA

  • you can try disabling your outgoing mail server.
  • Change the cards in your board.
  • You can flush the mails from mail queue
  • enable the outgoing mail server.

This should not be tried in Production instance.

My take on this requirement is NOT to do any changes and ignore/delete the notification mails.
