Unable to edit issue as an admin

Sarah Reyno January 9, 2023

Hi, I am an admin user for the service project was is unable to edit the issue that was created when I submitted the request. Is this because I reported the issue? How can I report the issue and also be able to edit it? I have all the permission necessary. Thank you

Hi @Sarah Reyno

I would check that first you have a jira servicre management license and also ensure that you are part of the roles to edit tickets. Most likely you have to be in the service desk team role.

Cheers

Hi, thank you for your response. Is the license you are talking about like the following ?

In terms of permissions, my user role is selected for all roles

@Sarah Reyno to add to what @Fabian Lim said, you have to check that all the roles that have been assigned to your user have the edit issue permission. If yes, then you should check if your are part of the service desk team. If yes, then check the workflow for any status properties that prohibit you from entering any value on the issue. Out of curiosity, what you are not able to edit? One field or all of them?

I was able to resolve the issue by having the Jira admin add me to as the service desk team. Thank you both for your response!
