×Is there a way to modify a global forms template or create a new forms template that can be used in ANY existing or future project? When creating a new form within an existing project, that form does not appear when opening other existing projects and does not appear to be able to be copied to other projects. Creating the same form over and over again is not a solution...
In native Jira/JSM, forms are scoped to a single project — there’s no built-in way to make one “global” template that you can just drop into any other project. That’s why you’re not seeing your form in other projects after creating it.
If you want true reusability across all projects, a practical approach is to use Smart Forms for Jira (developed by my team):
Centralized form templates – Build the form once in Smart Forms and make it available to any Jira project, including future ones.
Attach or replace – The same template can be attached to different request types in JSM or issue types without rebuilding it each time.
Easy updates – If you update the template, every project using it gets the updated version automatically — no need to manually edit forms in each project.
Cross-project automation – You can trigger issue creation, field mapping, or even add the form automatically to issues based on rules, regardless of project.
External & internal use – The same template can be used for portal forms, internal create-issue flows, or even shared externally via link.
Hello, Good day. Looks like your requirement is similar to https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JWMCLOUD-335. You are using forms in Jira software project or JSM project?

Thank you for the reply. Using Jira-cloud software project NOT JSM. Your link takes me to a card - but I don't see a solution to my question there- maybe I'm missing the direction you are showing me?
