email notification to selected audience based on reporter

Hi

We have various field sub-groups who want to be notified when a new ticket is started by someone with in their sub-group. What is the best way to achieve this? From JIRA side, everyone (all sub-groups) are in a single "group".

Hi Prateek,

Per this previous thread, sending a notification to all members of a particular reporter's group isn't natively supported in JIRA, but might be possible via a script. Additional info on managing nested groups in JIRA here.

I use on-demand so script runner is not an option. How does nested groups work? Can they allow me to do what I want?
