No, if you buy Jira Software you have access to JIRA Core functionalities.

Hi

I instakked 'Core' and put an evaluation license on.  I then installed 'Software' over the top and it appeared to upgrade Jira.  I've not been requested to add the'Software' evaluation license.

Can I just install Software and licence that? or does Software sit on top of Core and we require a license for both?

Hi

Yes, you can install Jira Software and license only Jira Software.

You will always have Jira Core because it is the core of the applications (Jira software and Jira service desk). Let's say you install Jira Software 50 users, your 50 Jira software users will have access to Jira Core. What you can't do is split users ie: 25 using Jira Software and 25 using Jira Core. If you need to do that you will need to buy a separate Jira Core license.

Avoid installing Jira Core and then Jira software, if you need Jira software just install Jira software, because it will include Jira Core.
