report to show average number of tickets created daily and hourly

Is there a report to show a summery of the average amount of tickets open per day or per hour over a designated period of time? 

I have seen a few open question on this but none of the answers have helped me. 

We need to know this data for staffing purposes to show traffic patterns.

You can also try an app that I have created, which has Created vs Resolved chart than can show daily, weekly, hourly and etc. stats - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1218888/simple-custom-reports-charts-for-jira

@Nicole Spellman You can use "Created vs Resolved chart" gadget on your JIRA dashboard: https://www.atlassian.com/blog/archives/supercharge-the-created-vs-resolved-gadget

 

or you can also make use of the default "Created vs Resolved" Requests report, if you are using JIRA Service desk : https://confluence.atlassian.com/servicedeskserver/setting-up-service-desk-reports-939926426.html
