service desk add projects doesnt work...

andrew.clark-monks March 31, 2016

Hi,

We are trying JIRA Service Desk and have starter licenses for both Service desk and Core. Currently using the developer licenses - Questions :-

  1. The JIRA core instance installed when we installed service desk, will use the same database for individual projects even if separate from the Service Desk?
  2. Do I have to link the applications together or are they already?
  3. when I select the add project button in administration...NOTHING happens, I am logged in as the admin so am unable to create ANY projects at all

Many thaks

Andrew

The Service Desk is an application that runs entirely within JIRA core.  So,

  1. yes, it's just the JIRA database
  2. Done already, one is running as part of the other
  3. That's wrong - you should get  a popup with project types.  Could be  a popup-blocker in your browser, but mostly, you'll want to read the log file for errors

Many thanks Nic, appreciated. Makes clear sense now.

I continued to have the add project issue until I completely restarted my VM...

thanks again

Very best regards

Andrew
