Reactivate Deleted Organization (Inactivity)

Matthew Judy May 14, 2025

Hello!

My Atlassian organization (https://nibfile.atlassian.nethas been deleted due to inactivity, and I’m hoping it can be restored.

Would an Atlassian Team member be so kind as to reactivate my Jira organization?  Thank you in advance, and please let me know if there is any other information required to facilitate this request.

Cheers,
—Matt

P.S.: I'm reaching out via this method because the “Contact Support” form cannot find my organization’s URL, and will not let me progress beyond that question (which seems like a potential issue).  With no e-mail support available, this seemed like the next-best option.

Hi @Matthew Judy

Could you please let me know what the Organization Id was?  It should have been included in an email you received if it was deleted due to inactivity.  With that information I can create a support ticket on your behalf to restore this.

Hi @Matthew Judy

I created a support case on your behalf over in https://getsupport.atlassian.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/23/JST-1138928

Someone from our Cloud support team should be able to help you further there.

Andy,

I have the same issue. I received the 180 inactivity email, but I still need the data. Can you help me recover my data? The support form won't let you progress because the tenant URL was deleted. https://myindata.atlassian.net/ organization ID: 502fc946-5b32-4b75-8bef-3f7bf0012a9d

Hi @mbraico

That site was deleted in 2023.  That data is not recoverable any longer. More info on Atlassian data retention policy.

When an Atlassian Cloud site is deleted, the organization associated with that site does not get automatically deleted historically.  However because of this, organizations that have been unused for a long time were never being removed.  Recently, Atlassian has started to delete those inactive orgs that were once associated to a Cloud site.

The organization itself doesn't really have useful data to recover.  If you wanted to we could restore the inactive organization.  However this won't restore the Cloud site, nor the product data that was on that cloud site at that time in 2023.  It would just restore the organization.  It might help to review What is an Atlassian organization? as I don't expect everyone to be an expert on this topic.

I hope that helps to explain this a bit better.

Andy
