Referenced Insight Custom Field - Filter with Attributes options

We have a Referenced Insight Custom Field with inbound reference to user assigned assets. 

The labels of these assets are not always descriptive enough to determine what type of object it is.

The icons soon become useless (especially for people who prefer tried and tested words over images ... they're out there).  There are many asset types available here, for example laptops, terminals, tablets, desk phones, mobile phones, hard tokens, soft tokens, entry badges, credit cards, keys etc etc

In the [Filter objects with attributes] field I'd like to display the Object Type as well as the label.  For example:
Hard Token - 123456
Soft Token - 451786

Is the object type somehow available, or do I need to create an attribute on all object types called something like [Object Type Name] so I can add that?
