Hi all,
Is there a way to remove "none" as an option from the Pending reason field?
When I go into the configuration of the field I cannot see a way to exclude this.
I saw other posts mentioning making the field required, but that's for radio buttons.
Would another custom field be needed to have that "none" option gone? Thanks
If you make the field mandatory AND set a default for it, then "none" will disappear.
You have to do both of those - setting a default means the user will see the default option selected when they create the issue, and making it mandatory forces the user to select something.
Setting the field as mandatory will leave "none" a valid option to select and default to (it's Jira's way to show that the field does not have any value, it's empty, not really set to "none"), even though it will stop the creation of the issue
Setting a default value will select an option when the users go to a create an issue, but "none" will still be offered in case the user actively wants to leave the field empty.
When you have a mandatory field with a default set, Jira knows that the "none" (empty) option is useless and hence drops it from the list of options displayed, but you have to set both mandatory and a default for it to do so.
The None option will only disappear when you set a default value for the field.
The option is set this is in the context of the field (see your screenshot)
Or set the field to be mandatory, this needs to be done in the field configuration scheme
