Shibboleth SSO with Jira Cloud

Has anyone figured out the trick to setting up their Shibboleth with JIRA Cloud? We have the idP setup, but for some reason Atlassian, the Service Provider, isn't accepting the login credentials when passed back. Since this is an "unsupported" SAML product there is zero help from Atlassian on what the issue may be.
