Hello!

I want to synchronize the contents of specific fields between projects through automation.

Please help me..

I'm cloning the ticket of project A and transferring it to project B for management.
Whenever A's ticket is updated, I want B's ticket to be updated automatically.
I only have administrative authority for Project A..

A is a collaborative project for many teams, so I can't get the authority.
Is it possible only if I have administrator authority?

If there's a way, please let me know

Hi @장주영 ,

You need to make sure that the 'Actor' user (Probably "Automation for Jira") of the automation rule has the correct permissions on both projects (ability to read and edit tickets).

Best regards,

Kris

Hi @장주영

I would agree to  @Kris Dewachter , that you would need correct permissions for both the projects.

Please check this doc for more info https://support.atlassian.com/cloud-automation/docs/permissions-required-for-jira-cloud-automation-rules/

By default, all project admins can create and manage automation rules for their projects. To be a project admin, they’ll need the following permission:

  • Company-managed projects: Anyone with the Administer projects and Browse projects permissions can create and manage automation rules for their project.
  • Team-managed projects: Anyone with Administrator access can create and manage automation rules for their project.

For the use-case that you mentioned I would recommend you to use an integration solution like Exalate.

Exalate, provides a fully bi-directional synchronization between Jira & Jira (Cloud, Server & DC).It is easy to set up and the entire customization can be configured using a no-code interface. You can even integrate between Jira Software, Jira Service Management (Service Desk) to achieve your integration requirements.

Exalate also provides a groovy based scripting engine for ultimate level of flexibility and customization.

Please be known that I am associated with Exalate as a Pre-Sales Engineer.

Thanks, Dhiren

Hello @장주영

Welcome to community!

If you want to do this easily and don't mind using a third app, our Copy & Sync application can help you with that. It allows you to copy/clone issues from one project to another and to keep these issues synchronized (you can choose what you want to copy and synchronize).

If you can tell me more about your need I can give you more information but in the meantime, you can have a look at some use cases we cover. You also can trigger recipes from Automation if needed.

You can try it for free!

Let me know

Regards
